Celebrate with Us!
Celebrate the 2009 Lunar New Year with your family, friends, and community.
This year the first day of Lunar New Year falls on January 26, 2009.
It is the Year of the Ox. Traditionally, the Lunar New Year is celebrated for 15 days.
The Tucson Chinese Association invites you, your family, and friends to our Chinese New Year festival events. The three events are a cultural variety show on January 24, 2009
at the Leo Rich Theatre, Tucson Convention Center (7PM-9PM) with music performances groups and solos, dances from children and adults, performances from out of town guests, and
martial arts demonstrations. The second event is the Family Day at the Tucson Chinese
Cultural Center on Saturday, January 31, 2009 (11AM-3PM). There will be lots of food
especially the traditional Lunar New Year items for sale. There will be demonstrations
on how to make these festival foods, there will be activities for the children to play
tradition Chinese games, there will be booths of Chinese goods for sale, and there will
be a variety of entertainment. It will be a fun full family day. The third event is our
Third Annual fundraising dinner on Saturday, February 7, 2009 (6PM-9PM). This year’s
dinner will be at the Desert Diamond Casino on Old Nogales Highway. Now that is pure adult fun.
